Pumpkins Galore

Pumpkins are one of those things that truly signify the beginning of fall around here. It may still be 95 degrees, but you know it's fall when the pumpkins show up on church lawns and grocery stores and your neighbors porches and just about everywhere else you look. We took the boys to one of the local churches that does a great pumpkin patch for the whole month of October. On the first day that we went they were waiting for a new shipment to arrive the next day, so there was pretty slim pickings. We did manage to get some cute pictures and the boys each picked out a little bitty pumpkin to take home. We came back the next weekend and came home with a bigger one.

Fort Worth trip

We took a weekend trip up to Fort Worth to visit Mimi. While we were there we also got to go watch Ben play baseball and go to Sam's high school football game and see him in the band playing bass drum. The boys had a great time!

Drew's 1st Day of MDO

Today was Drew's 1st day of Mother's Day Out. He actually missed the official first day, which was last week, because he caught a nasty stomach bug. He's been so excited to start school and we're looking forward to a great year! He'll go 2 days a week from 9-2. He looks so grown up with his new backpack and lunch kit and wearing tennis shoes.

We read the story The Kissing Hand before a few times before he started school and he and I made this special craft to remind him that I love him and miss him while he's at school. He keeps it in a pocket in his backpack.

Fishing with Daddy and Papaw Dave

On Labor Day, Dave came over and he and Russell took the boys out fishing in the little pond in our neighborhood. Drew got a fishing pole for Christmas last year and has been getting pretty good at casting it around the backyard. They had a lot of fun and Drew is already asking when they can go again!

Dressed and ready with boots and his fishing pole
A little bit of practice casting into the street with Papaw Dave

My cute boys

I know it's been absolutely forever since I posted (I'm actually writing this in October, but will post date it back to the end of August when the pictures were taken), but such is life with 2 small boys! Here's a sampling of their latest cuteness.

Drew playing with our water table
Josh checking everything out from on top of the "playground"

Russell and the boys at "Touch a Truck" (it was REALLY HOT)

A couple random pics

Here's the latest batch of random happenings around the Wiggins' house. Don't you wish you were here?

Josh is ready for his run
Drew is practicing writing his name (seen here with chalk on the back patio - done with minimal assistance!!)
2 silly boys making "silly faces"
Josh is starting to play with Legos independently (and properly)
A rare moment when Drew cooperated for a picture (probably because I'd just taken his brother's picture...)
Daddy makes a great horse!!

Also, check out this post on "My Other Blog" that shows the neat way we had lunch today!
