Oklahoma trip

We just returned on Sunday from our trip to Oklahoma to visit my family (with a trip to Fort Worth to visit Russell's family in the middle - but somehow I didn't take any pictures with my camera while we were there). We flew into Tulsa on Saturday evening, spent Sunday with my family and then drove to Ft. Worth on Monday. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo on Tuesday with Papaw Dave and cousin Ben. It's an awesome zoo and Drew loved it. It wasn't TOO terribly hot (but still plenty hot and humid!) and we did our best to enjoy ourselves. Once again Drew loved the elephants and the giraffes the best. We also saw monkeys, hippos, lions, tigers, birds, penguins, horses, longhorn cattle, flamingos, and rhinos. I love going to the zoo and look forward to many years of sharing that with my boys. (Josh was content to ride in the stroller and just chill (or bake, as the case may be) until it was time to eat and then we found a quiet corner where I could nurse.) Wednesday the boys and I stayed and played at Mimi and Papaw's house while Russell went to play golf with the guys.

We headed back to Tulsa/Jenks on Thursday and continued our adventures. We went to get ice cream at Braum's with my dad and Drew insisted on having his own ice cream cone. He actually did a pretty good job eating it. We may have created a monster! Friday we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium with Gramps and Aunt Becca. Drew really had a great time looking at all of the fish. But, I think his favorite thing was feeding the turtles. They had long plastic sticks with clothespins on the end where you could put carrot slices and then feed the turtles in their pond. He LOVED it!! Now, maybe we can convince him to eat a carrot of his own - good luck! Saturday was the 4th of July, and we were pretty lazy that morning. After nap time we went to walk on the Jenks Riverwalk and then found a playground to play at for a little bit. It was pretty hot, so we didn't stay long. We decided to watch fireworks on TV instead of trying to brave the crowds and mess up bedtimes. Maybe someday we'll actually go somewhere to watch the fireworks, but for now I'm perfectly content to watch the Boston Pops show or the fireworks over the Capitol building. Sunday was church again and then we flew back home. The boys did great on the flights and Drew really liked watching the airplanes and looking out the window on the flight. I hope they continue to be good little travelers since we probably have many more trips in our future! Now, onto the pictures!!!

We discovered that Drew has inherited my "allergic-ness" to bug bites. A mosquito (or something) bit him under his eye and it swelled up and got nice and red. We got some benadryl and the nice CVS pharmacist helped us figure out the correct dosage. Such fun!

Josh is 3 months old!

Josh is 3 months old!! Where has the time gone?? He has already grown and changed so much in such a short time. He doesn't have a doctor's appointment this month, so I don't have official stats, but I weighed him on our scale at home and he weighs about 14.5 pounds. His next well-check is at 4 months. He is cooing and babbling lots and loves to talk to people. He has the best smile and loves to watch his big brother. He laughed for the first time about a week ago. Drew was throwing a burp cloth around and being silly and Josh let out a huge belly laugh at him. He also rolled over from tummy to back (although it might have been a little bit of a fluke - we'll see if he can repeat it on a regular basis). He is such a joy to have in our lives. I LOVE this little boy!!

Cute random pictures of 2 cute boys

Here are some cute random pictures that I came across that I thought I'd share. I know the grandparents that are far away like to see anything they can get!

Gigi and Grandpa visit

Gigi and Grandpa Randy came to visit last weekend. Gigi actually came a few days early, so we were able to do some shopping and just enjoyed hanging out with the boys. We got out the swimming pool while they were here and enjoyed our first splashes of the season. We also took a trip into town to the Audubon Aquarium. We always love when Gigi and Grandpa come to visit!

Happy Father's Day

Just wanted to take a minute to wish all of the fathers in our lives a very Happy Father's Day! We are blessed to have so many wonderful men as examples for us and our boys. We love you - Daddy/Gramps, Dad/Papaw Dave, Randy/Grandpa Randy, Grandpa, Papaw, and Gramps. Plus, I can't forget our very own "Dada". Russell - you are an amazing father and I love being on this journey through parenthood with you! Our boys have a wonderful Godly example of what a great father looks like and I am blessed to have you by my side!

More pictures

I don't have much to say, I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. Enjoy!

Drew decided he wanted to read a book to Josh. (This was totally his own idea and made my mommy-heart melt. I mean, how cute/sweet is that???)

What a cutie!! (This was after his afternoon feeding one day and he just kept grinning and smiling and making eyes at me - I love it!)

Tummy time - such concentration (or is it frustration?)
Peace
Hello Bunny
Not to be outdone...still such a cutie pie!
(I keep trying to get a good picture of the 2 of them together, so far not much luck!)

Josh - 2 months

Josh is 2 months old!!! Where has the time gone? He's already grown and changed so much. He is starting to be much more awake and alert and we're starting to see his personality shining through (so far, he's pretty laid back and content). He's started grinning and smiling more and it just melts my heart! He's also beginning to coo and make lots of other sounds. He eats every 3 hours during the day, and is going 4-5 at night. It's so fun to watch him grow and change before our eyes. I am so blessed to be able to stay home with my babies. Even on days when I'm sleep deprived and going crazy, there's still nothing else I'd rather be doing. These are precious days that I know will be gone way too soon.
UPDATE: We took Josh for his 2 month check-up (6/8) and he weighs 13lbs., 4.5 oz. and is 23 inches long. That puts him in the 75th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. He also got 2 shots and an oral vaccine. He did NOT like either of them!!
